LEMONT – With a five-week break between OTAs and the start of training camp, David Molk has spent much of that time in his hometown of Lemont.
Entering his second season in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers, the 2007 Lemont High School graduate is back at his alma mater this week helping out at a youth camp.
"It's a blast," Molk said. "It's something different than what I'm used to. What makes it cool is that these kids don't really know anything yet. So you can teach them what you want to teach them and it's cool when they pick it up."
Molk is scheduled to fly back out to San Diego on July 23 with practice starting up the next day.
The offensive lineman is excited about his second year in the league.
"As far as schematically, I'm up to pace with everything," said Molk, who will be playing under first-year head coach Mike McCoy. "I know far more than I did last year. My comfort level with the NFL and the league, I couldn't be more comfortable. I know what to expect. And I love the team I'm with and I love the situation I'm in."
