Lemont native becomes YouTube sensation with gay-themed country music video

Lemont native Steve Grand has seen his popularity soar since releasing a gay-themed country rock music video last week.

LEMONT – Steve Grand, 23, has drawn national attention after the release of his music video, "All-American Boy," a gay-themed country rock ballad.

Grand, a Lemont native, posted the video July 2 and has received more than 850,000 views so far.

He has also done interviews with multiple national media outlets, including an interview on Good Morning America July 9.

Grand has been profuse with gratitude for the positive response he has received from his video.

"I am so overwhelmed right now I don't even know what to say," Grand posted on his Facebook page on July 3. "I cannot thank you enough for supporting me ... I've dreamed about this all of my life."

Grand will play two shows at 8 p.m. July 12 and 13 at the Joynt, 650 N. Dearborn St., Chicago.
