West Chicago library receives nearly $31,000 in state funds

WEST CHICAGO – The West Chicago Public Library District has been awarded an Illinois Per Capita Grant worth nearly $31,000.

The library is one of 611 throughout the state to receive state grant funds based on the population of its service area. This year, the library received $30,751.40.

The grant includes a 5 percent increase from 2012, rising from $1.02 per resident to $1.07 per resident.

Per Capita Grant funding helps ensure public libraries are able to afford expenses such as materials, personnel, equipment, electronic access, telecommunications and technology.
