WESTERN SPRINGS – Featuring top local food, live music and an impressive slate of silent auction items, the Theatre of Western Springs (TWS) presents its 7th annual "Taste of the Arts" fundraiser July 20.

At least ten local restaurants will be present to offer food, fine wines, beer and other beverages. TWS actors and actresses will work the event, which takes place on the large patio in front of the theatre, located at 4384 Hampton Ave.

“This event is for the community,” said Jennifer Jermano Miller, chair of the TWS board of governors, in a news release. “It’s our chance to host a beautiful summer party as a way of thanking patrons and introducing newcomers to our theatre. Everyone is welcome.”

The silent auction will feature nearly 100 items, including an instant wine cellar valued at $650 and a guitar autographed by the band Styx.

A raffle will award three prizes, including the top one: $1,000 in airfare toward a one-week vacation to one of several destinations.

“Not only is the event a fabulous deal and fabulous fun, it is our largest fundraiser," said Martha Niles, chair of the event, in a release. "This event helps make it possible for the western suburbs to have amazing theatre at great prices.”

TWS receives no subsidized funding and relies on subscriptions, ticket sales, tuition, donations and fundraisers. Tickets for the event are $50 in advance and $60 at the door.

Call 708-246-4340, or go to www.theatrewesternsprings.com to purchase tickets.
