Officers conduct extra enforcement for July 4 holiday

LYONS – The Lyons Police Department conducted extra enforcement during the Fourth of July holiday.

Officers were mainly targeting those who were not wearing their seat belt, and people who were driving under the influence. 

Officers wrote up one DUI citation; 28 set belt violations; identified four drivers driving with a suspended, or no valid driver's license; and three child restraint violations.

One speeding citation was issued. Five people without insurance and six other traffic and equipment violations were also issued.
