LOMBARD – Sarah Richardt, the senior programming coordinator with the Lombard Historical Society, has accepted the position of executive director of the Lombard Town Centre.

Richardt started her new position Monday, and is filling the vacancy left by Michelle Iwinski, who served in the executive director position from September 2012 until July 1.

In addition to her work with the historical society, Richardt serves as a Lombard Park District commissioner, and she was previously a member of the Lombard Town Centre's Board of Directors.

Although she already began her new job with the town centre, she will continue her position with the historical society until August.

Richardt said she's looking forward to this position because it combines her interests in local history, event planning and real estate.

"I am very excited and I believe in the organization," she said. "It is going to be a lot of fun and a lot of work."

She lives in Lombard with her husband, Danny, and their two teenage daughters.
