Author applications now available for Glen Ellyn BookFest

GLEN ELLYN – Author applications to participate in the fourth annual BookFest: A Celebration of Books are now available.

The BookFest, organized by the Glen Ellyn Public Library, The Bookstore and Bundles of Books, will take place Sept. 28 in downtown Glen Ellyn.

Applications are available at www.bookfest.org/author and are due July 31.

Authors are encouraged to submit a copy of their book(s) and any additional materials, such as a press kit, as part of their application. All materials should be mailed to Amy Franco, Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St., Glen Ellyn.

The BookFest will feature an indoor event for authors to sell their books and network with each other.

The festival also provides Glen Ellyn residents with the opportunity to enjoy unique literary events that feature acclaimed and local authors.

The keynote speaker for the event is Ayana Mathis, a graduate from the University of Iowa’s Writer’s Workshop. Her debut novel, "The Twelve Tribes of Hattie," was chosen to be part of Oprah's Book Club.
