GLENDALE HEIGHTS – An upcoming golf tournament in Glendale Heights will raise money for fallen firefighters.

Community members can participate in the 5th Annual Chicagoland Fallen Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament July 19 at Glendale Lakes Golf Club. The tournament is one in a series of nationwide games to fundraise for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Last year's tournament raised more than $30,000.

The price is $150 per golfer and includes 18 holes, gift bags, a lunch buffet, dinner and a team photo. Registration begins at 10:45 a.m. A shot gun start will take place at 12 p.m.

Glenside Fire Protection District and Glenside Professional Firefighters IAFF Local #3277 will also participate in the event.

"Hosting the Chicagoland Tournament is a small way that the families of the Glenside Fire Protection District, alongside our friends and sponsors, can let the survivors of our fallen firefighters know that we remember their loved ones' sacrifice and that we care," said Tournament Coordinator Jim Larsen.
