Man struck, killed by car in Romeoville Thursday night

ROMEOVILLE – A Plainfield man was struck and killed by a car in Romeoville Thursday night, according to the Romeoville Police Department.

Samuel Bursey, 61, was crossing Weber Road eastbound just north of 135th Street when he was struck by a 2000 Honda Civic traveling northbound, according to Romeoville police.

Bursey was pronounced dead at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital at 10:15 p.m. that night.

Jorge Olarte, 23, of Aurora, was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police said.

The accident is still under investigation.
