Lisle Park District plans contest for Parks and Recreation Month

Published: Wednesday, July 10, 2013 2:27 p.m. CDT

LISLE – The Lisle Park District and the National Recreation and Park Association want people in the Lisle community to express their love for local parks and recreation as part of national Park and Recreation Month in July.

Paramount to this year’s theme – “I [heart] my Park and Recreation” – is the fill-in-the-blank social media poster that people can use to say why they love their local parks and recreation.

Participants can print off the poster, or pick one up at the Recreation Center, 1925 Ohio St., Lisle. Then, take a picture of themselves with the filled-out poster at a Lisle Park District facility, program or event.

The photo should be uploaded to the Lisle Park District Facebook page or tweeted to @LisleParks.

All photos submitted should use the hashtags #LoveLisleRec and #ParkRecLuv to be become part of the campaign.

For the first picture a person submits that meets the above criteria, he or she will receive a Lisle Park District T-shirt featuring the “I [heart] my Park and Recreation” campaign logo.

The Lisle Park District will celebrate the end of Park and Recreation Month by randomly selecting one of the submitted photos to receive a grand prize of $100 toward park district programming.
