Lemont Relay for Life steps off Friday

LEMONT – The Relay for Life of Lemont and Homer Glen will hold its annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society on Friday at the Lemont High School Sports Complex, 131st Street and Bell Road.

The event starts with an opening ceremony at 6 p.m., followed by a survivor and caregiver lap at about 6:20 p.m. and a survivor reception at about 6:40 p.m.

The Luminaria Ceremony will take place after dark to remember people have died of cancer, honor people who have fought cancer in the past and support those whose fight continues.
