Art and the library at Westchester
Over the last six months, the Westchester Public Library has displayed works of art and photography on our new Art Wall.
You may remember we initially featured the library’s “Prairie Mural Project,” a four canvas landscape painted by Youth Librarian Julie Yekel and youth volunteers, on the Art Wall. The mural depicted the Wolf Road Prairie throughout the changing seasons.
During May and June, the Art Wall featured an exhibit from the Salt Creek Camera Club. The group provided 30 pieces, which showed an array of beautiful photographs of various familiar themes. Both exhibits proved to be popular as library patrons, both old and new, stopped to admire the work.
