ELMHURST – A Westmont woman is out on bond after she allegedly drove her car off the road onto Elmhurst train tracks while under the influence of alcohol Tuesday, police said.

Julia Dudeck, 29, 72 W. 59th St. in Westmont, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 9:09 p.m. July 2 near the train tracks at West Park and South Myrtle avenues.

Elmhurst police responded to a call for a vehicle stuck on train tracks in the area when they found Dudeck sitting on the curb with her car on the tracks. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a minor injury and released on bond, police said.

All trains were stopped and the car was towed. Metra spokesperson Meg Reili said that three trains were delayed during the incident. An outbound train was delayed 30 minutes and two inbound trains were delayed 20 minutes she said.
