Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce has plenty planned this summer

The summer is in full swing, and the Lisle Chamber has been in the midst of many activities of an outdoor nature.

Last week, we participated in Lisle’s popular Eyes to the Skies Festival. Our volunteer hours are used to generate funds for the Chamber scholarship program.

For this year’s scholarship awards, more than $3,500 was available to fund the program.

This, combined with donations from Lisle Savings Bank and Benedictine University, along with money from the Chamber’s general fund, allowed us to award 10 $500 scholarships to graduating high school students.

We are pleased to provide this level of support. We were hopeful that this year’s festival, which was four days long, will produce higher returns for us. We will know the final results later in the summer.

Our Downtown Business Council Cruise Nights occur on the last Saturday of each month May through August. This year it is even bigger and better with live music and great raffle prizes. There is a good chance that an additional night will be added for September on the 21st.

On the last Saturday of September – the 28th – the Lisle Chamber will present our first Ale Fest.

This craft beer-tasting event will feature about 40 craft brewers and 80 different beers.

Guests will buy tickets for 18 tastes of 3 ounces each. A special souvenir glass will be included in the admission price. We will also have food vendors selling barbecue-themed food and a Blues musical group. The theme of the event is Barbecue, Beer and Blues.

Watch for marketing and the Lisle Ale Fest website.

In July, after our involvement with the Eyes to the Skies Festival, we will hold our annual golf outing at Seven Bridges Golf Club.

The entry fee of $135 includes a box lunch, golf, two drink tickets and a steak dinner, which makes this one of the best values of any outing at a premier golf course.

One need not be from a Chamber member company to participate, so take a look at our website,, and sign up.
