Food donations being accepted at Villa Park's Fourth of July parade

VILLA PARK – Representatives from the Lombard-Villa Park food pantry will be pushing shopping carts along the Villa Park Fourth of July parade collecting donations for the pantry.

Parade spectators are asked to bring canned and non-perishable food items, toiletries and cash donations to give to the food pantry.

The parade is organized by the Villa Park VFW and begins at noon on Thursday. Parade entries will gather at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 S. Ardmore Avenue and process south to Central Boulevard. The parade will travel in a counter clockwise circle along Central Boulevard, Harvard Avenue, Madison Street, Summit Avenue and Park Boulevard.

The route will end at the Ruggard Gazebo near Park Boulevard and Ardmore Avenue. The VFW Post 2801 will have a beer tent where visitors can purchase beer and free hot dogs will be distributed.
