Elmhurst foundation recognizes former Visitation School principal

ELMHURST – The Elmhurst Children's Assistance Foundation (ECAF) will present its annual Friend of the Children award at the group's 18th golf outing.

The award recipient, Sister Thomas Leo Monohan, retired last year after a 40-year career at Visitation Catholic School in Elmhurst. She began as a teacher in 1977 and became principal three years later.

The ECAF's 18th annual golf outing begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m. August 5 at Riverside Country Club, 2520 Des Plaines Ave., North Riverside. Monohan will be honored at at 6 p.m. dinner.
