BOLINGBROOK – Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital will host a free kidney screening 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 24.

The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois will offer the free screenings, which will take place in the Inspire Room at the hospital. Adventist Bolingbrook staff and residents are invited to attend. Appointments are not necessary.

After each screening, attendees can speak with a doctor about their screening results and talk to Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network representatives, who will also be on hand to provide information on organ and kidney donations.

Dr. Mohammed Ahmed, a nephrologist who will be at the kidney screenings doing evaluations, explained that residents need to be aware of kidney disease prevalence and take action.

“One in three American adults is at risk for kidney disease,” Ahmed said. “That’s why the hospital provides this type of education and screening, to keep the community informed.”

This is the second time the hospital has hosted the event.
