WHEATON – Three additional road closures during July may alter routes for drivers in Wheaton, according to a city news release.

Union Pacific will close the Cross Street railroad crossing July 5 through July 22 to make track repairs and upgrades. A detour route on Main Street will be posted to direct traffic.

In addition, road improvements and an access drive along the north side of Roosevelt Road for the new Mariano's Fresh Market opening in October will close westbound Roosevelt Road starting July 8. The westbound lane reduction will last approximately four to six weeks and will run from Naperville Road to Main Street.

Finally, crews for the Illinois Department of Transportation's Butterfield Road Reconstruction Project are in the process of placing the final pavement for the main lanes of Butterfield Road. Construction began July 2 and will continue through the next week. The work will also include the paving of side streets around Butterfield. IDOT anticipates the project will be completed at the end of July, according to the release.
