BOLINGBROOK – The Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce raised $2,000 for the One Fund Boston, Inc. during the 2013 Golf Extravaganza.

This year's golf outting took place June 19 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club and featured a "Cheers" themed reception. Following the event, the chamber received a letter of support from Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.

On Tuesday, Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Michael Carpanzano mailed the check to One Fund Boston, then thanked and congratulated all who participated.

"We want to thank everyone who donated to such an amazing and heartfelt cause," Carpanzano posted on the chamber website. "Residents, community leaders, and business owners all came out to not only enjoy 18 holes of golf, but to give generously to those who were injured or lost their lives at the Boston Marathon earlier this year."

The One Fund Boston, Inc. was formed to help people affected by the Boston Marathon bombing April 15.
