WESTMONT – Patriotism was on display Saturday as Westmont’s Standard Market hosted its second annual AmericaFest.

The event featured carnival games, entertainment and food, including snow cones, fried cheese curds and bratwurst.

AmericaFest raised $500 for the People’s Resource Center Food Pantry, said Kate Deck, marketing and communications manager for Standard Market.

“It was a great event; the customers really enjoyed the food and games,” Deck said. “We’re very happy and thankful for everyone.”

Standard Market’s patriotic fundraiser also featured juggling unicyclists, fire jugglers, live music and a rib sampling by Smoke Daddy Chef Kevin Ives as well as taste testing with local vendors.

“We wanted a way to celebrate America and highlight the market and locally made things,” Deck said. “It’s a way to have fun with our customers. People know they can come and get the kid’s face painted, do some shopping and just have a good time.”
