Skateboarding lessons offered at new skatepark in Villa Park

VILLA PARK – First-time skaters itching to try out the village's new skate park at the Iowa Community Center can learn to skateboard during a special program offered through the Villa Park Parks and Recreation Department.

Skateboarding 101 will be taught by Scott Mitchell, owner of Motiv8 Skate Shop in Villa Park, and participants will learn about safety, skate park etiquette and the proper gear to wear.

Sessions are offered on Tuesday and Wednesday during the weeks of July 8, July 15 and July 22. For specific session dates and time, contact Brian Sherry at 630-834-8970 or email him at bsherry@invillapark.com.

Participants are required to wear helmets, knee pads and elbow pads.
