Downers Grove Council to hear proposal for new townhomes, bids for road work
DOWNERS GROVE – The Downers Grove Village Council will hear the first readings of two items at its regular meeting Tuesday night, including a construction bid to resurface 12 miles of village roads and an ordinance to allow the construction 14 new townhomes.
The $2.35 million low bid from Central Blacktop Company, Inc. of LaGrange would replace defective curbs and gutters and lay new asphalt on 12 miles of road targeted by the village. The streets selected for the project were chosen based on condition, proximity to each other and other factors, according to village documents.
The project would resurface roads on both the north and south parts of town, including portions of Third, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, 40th, 41st, and 65th streets, Berrywood Lane, Cumnor Road, Davane Court and several others.
