Darien Walmart employee turns in bag containing thousands of dollars

DARIEN – The Darien Police responded to Walmart, located at 2189 W. 75th St. in Darien, for the report of found money at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Richard Zuhn, manager for the store told the police officer that a shopping cart attendant located a bank bag left in one of the shopping carts. Upon examination, the bag contained about $7,355.

The unnamed employee immediately reported the found money to his manager and a person claiming to be the owner of the money contacted Walmart. The Darien Police and Walmart management viewed store video to confirm the ownership.

The money has been returned to the rightful owner.
