Revised student health policy means new school physical deadline for D200 students
WHEATON – Students in District 200 will be required to submit evidence of having recently received a physical from a doctor to their school nurse's office before the start of the school year, with a new submission deadline of September 3, according to a D200 news release.
Students entering preschool, kindergarten, sixth or ninth grade in the 2013-14 school year must turn in evidence of a physical examination by a licensed physician from within the past 12 months in addition to proof of current immunizations, the release said. The district will exclude students who are not compliant with this requirement.
The policy was revised during a recent Board of Education meeting. For questions about physicals or forms, the release advised contacting the local school nurse.
