Hillside police increasing enforcement of drunk drivers June 28-July 7
HILLSIDE – The Hillside Police Department will target drunk and unbuckled drivers, especially during late-night hours, in the days leading up to and after the Fourth of July.
The effort is part of two statewide campaigns, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click it or Ticket, and will run from June 28 to July 7.
“Year in and year out, Independence Day is one of the deadliest holidays due to an increase in drunk-driving fatalities,” Hillside police chief Joseph Lukaszek said. “Too many people die each year due to those who choose to drive after drinking, so our officers will be out in full force this Fourth of July showing zero tolerance for drunk drivers and belt law violators.”
