Berwyn brings in the 4th of July with American Music Festival

The annual American Music Festival at FitzGerald's Nightclub in Berwyn kicks off on July 3. Now in its 33rd year, the festival runs through July 6 and features tons of rock, blues and roots music, along with plenty of cajun cooking. Click the link for more information. 

Fireworks, food and music in Riverside, Brookfield and Lyons

Residents have plenty of options this Fourth of July to stay close to home and catch parades, concerts and fireworks. The village of Lyons will put on its biggest yearly event culminating in Independence Day fireworks display at dusk. Brookfield and Riverside both have big parades as well: July 3 in Riverside and July 4 in Brookfield. Click the link for more information. 

La Grange hosts casual party in the park for 4th of July, Fireworks in Countryside

There's lots going on in the La Grange area for the Fourth of July. In La Grange, residents are coming together for a gathering in Waiola Park with music provided by WLTL radio. They'll watch fireworks from the country club at dusk. There's also fireworks and hot dogs on the grill at Walker Park in Burr Ridge. Click the link for more information

Dancing, fireworks and a turtle race in Hinsdale, Darien area

Parades commence on Independence Day morning in both Hinsdale and Darien. Fun-loving folks will be Dancin in the Streets the night before in Clarendon Hills. Also on July 3, there will be plenty of good eating at the Taste of Oak Brook followed by fireworks. Click the link for more information.

Downers Grove, Woodridge team up for 4th of July festivities

The annual fireworks celebration is funded by the villages of Downers Grove and Woodridge and kicks off at 9:30 p.m. July 4. Other events include a patriotic speech by Alexander Hamilton, as portrayed by Terry Lynch, and parade in Downers Grove. Click the link for more information. 

Westmont's 4th festivities full of fun for the kids

Prior to the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. July 4, Ty Warner Park will host a petting zoo, kids crafts, a watermelon eating contest and more. Click the link for more information. 

Blackhawks anthem singer to kick off Bolingbrook fireworks

The village’s only community-wide Fourth of July celebration returns to the Bolingbrook Golf Club for an 11th-consecutive year. More than 12,000 people are expected to grace the greens and fairways. Additionally, Chicago Blackhawks national anthem singer Jim Cornelison will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the fireworks show at 9:15 p.m. July 4. Click the link for more information. 

Lisle's Eyes to the Skies set to take flight

One of Lisle’s most treasured events, the Eyes to the Skies Festival includes a hot air balloon launch, carnival, music, food and more. Fourth of July events include a Fireworks Extravaganza at 9:45 p.m. July 4. Click the link for more information.

Arts and athletics in Lemont on Independence Day

The Lemont Public Library is hosting a patriotic art program, a 5K will take place in Centennial Park and the Lemont Park District will offer several activities, culminating with fireworks at dusk.

Glen Ellyn offers parade, fireworks and other festivities for the 4th

Start the day with the "Freedom Four" run. Then see the parade and spend the afternoon in Lake Ellyn Park, playing carnival games and dancing to live music. Finish with an evening of fireworks.

Wheaton celebrates with "A Salute to Service",

Enjoy the holiday with carnival rides, historic reenactors and one of the largest Independence Day parades in the state, all in accordance with the theme "A Salute to Service." Cantigny Park will  host historic games and activities.

Carol Stream hosts parade, live music and fireworks for the 4th of July,

Touted as "the biggest event of the year in the village," the 27th annual parade will include stilt walkers, jugglers and tumblers. Classic rock band Voyage will perform in the evening and fireworks will round out the day.
