Downtown Glen Ellyn to become outdoor jazz club for July 13 fest

GLEN ELLYN – The Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce will transform downtown Glen Ellyn into an outdoor jazz club for "Jazz in Glen Ellyn" July 13.

The free festival will feature performances by top Chicago jazz musicians and serve various refreshments.

The event will take place from 4:30 until 10:30 p.m. (gates open at 4), with performances by Paul Wertico’s Jazz with Friends, Mark Colby Quartet, Dee Alexander and the Elmhurst College Jazz Band, featuring Byron Stripling.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the event, which will be held along Main Street in Glen Ellyn. The street will be closed to vehicular traffic between Crescent Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue.

No coolers or outside alcoholic beverages will be allowed.

This year's Jazz in Glen Ellyn sponsors include BMO Harris Bank, Cadence Health, Community Bank of Wheaton and Glen Ellyn, Glen Ellyn Dentistry and Massage Envy Spa.
