Romeoville cops: House search yields over a ton of marijuana

ROMEOVILLE – A Romeoville man was charged with several felonies after police reportedly found over a ton of marijuana worth about $2.75 million while searching his home Friday, according to the Romeoville Police Department.

Carlos A. Nieto, 38, of the 700 block of Rogers Road in Romeoville, was charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, drug possession, money laundering and possession of a stolen firearm, according to police.

Upon searching his home Friday, police recovered 2,750 pounds of marijuana, packaged in 110 bundles of 25 pounds each from the house, police said. Authorities also found a stolen .357 caliber revolver and $14,200 in cash, police said.

Nieto was transported to Will County Adult Detention Facility.
