D-181 approves new CHMS assistant principal

CLARENDON HILLS – The Community Consolidated School District 181 Board of Education on Monday approved the hiring of Joni Sherman as the Clarendon Hills Middle School assistant principal, effective July 1.

Sherman will fill the vacancy of Eric Chisausky, who was named principal of Walker School in District 181, also effective July 1.

Sherman was most recently the assistant principal of Pleasantdale Middle School in Pleasantdale District 107 in Burr Ridge. There, she conducted staff evaluations, used data to make curriculum decisions and determine student placements, created the school’s master schedule and coordinated the district’s summer school program.

Sherman’s education includes a master’s degree in curriculum and technology from Benedictine University and a bachelor’s degree as a teacher of education in mathematics from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana.

She additionally has a certificate of advanced study from the University of Illinois in educational leadership and organization.
