Train conductor shot, injured in Glendale Heights

GLENDALE HEIGHTS – A train conductor on a passing Canadian National Train allegedly was shot by an 18-year-old Addison resident and a 15-year-old Glendale Heights resident.

Glendale Heights Police arrested Carlos Alberto Lopez-Almaraz, 18, and the Glendale Heights resident after they reportedly fired an air rifle at the train, injuring the conductor June 23. The conductor’s injuries were not life threatening but required medical attention, according to a news release from Glendale Heights Police Department.

Both were charged with aggravated battery. Lopez-Almaraz is being held in jail on a bond of $45,000. The 15-year-old was charged as a minor.
