Cantigny Park to host Independence Day festivities

WHEATON – Cantigny Park in Wheaton will offer "patriotic sights, sounds and activities" as well as free parking for the Fourth of July, according to a news release.

The special holiday programming lasts from noon until 4 p.m. The McCormick Museum will host arts and crafts starting at noon, Revolutionary War reenactors will fire a real cannon and supervise 18th-century games and there will be a replica Declaration of Independence for children to sign.

There will also be magic shows, a mural painting, inflatables and a free pair of colorable July 4th sunglasses. At the end of the day, the United States Navy Band Great Lakes Wind Ensemble will perform.
