Warrenville police investigating residential burglaries

WARRENVILLE – The Warrenville Police Department is investigating three residential burglaries that occurred between May 31 and June 18 in the Summerlakes and Edgebrook subdivisions.

Although there are some similarities among the burglaries, it is unclear whether the incidents are related, Police Chief Ray Turano said. The neighborhoods where the burglaries occurred are not adjoining, he said.

According to an alert on the city of Warrenville website, the forced-entry burglaries occurred at varying times on different days of the week.

Small personal items were stolen during each of the burglaries, Turano said.

Warrenville police are contacting surrounding communities to see if they've experienced similar burglaries and examining physical evidence from the crime scenes, he said.

Police are also taking proactive measures, adding extra patrols in the area and asking the public to keep their eyes open, Turano said.

Suspicious activity should be reported to 911. Anyone with information regarding the burglaries is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Jacobson at 630-393-2131.

The police department encourages residents to secure their homes and vehicles.
