Lemont organizations reap rewards from Mayor's Drive for Charity

LEMONT – Lemont Mayor Brian Reaves distributed checks to community organizations during the June 24 Lemont Village Board meeting.

The money came from the annual Mayor's Drive for Charity, which collected close to $40,000 this year.

Reaves commended all the organizations in attendance at the meeting.

"If there's any one thing that amazes me as mayor, it is the groups of people who help each other," Reaves said.

Groups that received checks at the meeting included:

• Art and Culture Commission

• Boy Scout Troop 149

• Community Chest

• Community Nutrition Network

• Cub Scout Pack 249

• DARE Program

• Jeff Anderson Children's Foundation

• Keepataw Days Festival

• Lemont Area Historical Society

• Lemont Artists Guild

• Lemont Band Boosters Association

• Lemont Christian Clergy Association

• Lemont Girl Scouts Service Unit

• Lemont High School Band Parents Association

• Lemont High School Project Graduation

• Lemont Junior Woman's Club

• Lemont Juniorettes

• Lemont Lions Club

• Lemont Police Explorer Post

• Lemont Township Family Assistance Fund

• Lemont Township Human Services
