4th of July Festivities in Glen Ellyn

Village organizations are offering a range of ways to celebrate America’s independence this year, from a park district run to a downtown parade to the traditional fireworks.

‘Freedom Four’ 4-mile run  

• 8 a.m. July 4

• Glenbard West football field, 670 Crescent Blvd. Glen Ellyn

Fourth of July Parade

• Noon July 4

• Downtown

• Begins east of Glenbard West on Crescent Boulevard, proceeds west to Main Street, north to Linden Avenue and east to Lake Ellyn

Afternoon festivities at Lake Ellyn Park

• 1 to 4 p.m. July 4

• Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Road

• $3 wristband for festivities including moonwalks, inflatable obstacle course, carnival games, live music and dancing, face painting, food from Skuddlebutts

• Hosted by Glen Ellyn Park District, sponsored by Rotary Club of Glen Ellyn

• No sparklers or candles allowed, no blankets allowed to save spots in the park before 6 a.m. July 4
