Treatment of Emerald Ash Borer under way in Western Springs
WESTERN SPRINGS – Treatment to protect trees from the Emerald Ash Borer beetle began Monday on parkway trees in Western Springs.
The village is injecting a pesticide – a product called Tree-Age – into the base of trees along parkways.
If residents intend to treat their own parkways trees, the village asks that they notify officials so they can keep a record of treated trees. Any tree treated by the village or a resident does not guarantee the tree will not be removed by the Public Works department.
