Published: Wednesday, June 26, 2013 12:10 a.m. CDT

WHEATON – Wheaton will see some road closures with the arrival of Independence Day, according to a city news release.

The 2013 Fireworks Display will cause delays on North County Farm Road between West Roosevelt Road and Geneva Road; Manchester Road between East Street (Winfield) and North Gables Boulevard and surrounding side streets around the DuPage County Fairgrounds.

The display will be held from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

In addition, the July 4th parade will be held the next day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. It will cause the closure of North Main Street between Geneva Road and West Wesley Street; West Wesley Street between North Main Street and West Street; West Street between West Wesley Street and Front Street; and Front Street between West Street and North Cross.

The release said that those closures come in addition to the closures on North Main Street south of Geneva Road and Cole Avenue both east and west of North Main Street. They are closed due to an ongoing flood control construction project.
