5: State trophies collected by the Raiders in the past six years, including back-to-back championships
Highlight: The cast of characters might have been vastly different this spring, but the final result was the same for the Raiders. Led by seniors Jane Trzaska, Steph Chitkowski and Hannah Taylor, a less experienced Glenbard South squad capped off an impressive playoff run with a 1-0 victory over Marquette in eight innings in the Class 3A state championship game. Trzaska's two-out hit drove in the winning run and Chitkowski closed out the title contest inside the pitching circle for the second year in a row.
12: Seasons out of the last 14 in which the Raiders have finished with a .500 or better record, including this past spring
Highlight: No doubt the lasting memory from another successful Raiders' season was the team's come-from-behind, 6-5 victory over Latin in a Class 3A regional championship matchup. Trailing 5-1 and down to its last out in the seventh inning, Glenbard South rallied to score four runs and then plated the game-winner in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Justin Joseph. In addition to the regional title, the squad again reached the 20-win plateau and finished as the runner-up in the Metro Suburban Conference.
