The spring sports season saw a slew of memorable moments for Benet athletes. Here are some of the biggest highlights for the Redwings.
97: Runs the Redwings scored as they went 10-2-1 from May 1 to the start of the playoffs May 23.
Highlight: With East Suburban Catholic Conference MVP Pat McInerney, Joe Giuffre, Joe Boyle and Connor Hickey leading the way, the Redwings won eight of their final nine conference games, including an 8-7 win over eventual Class 3A champ Joliet Catholic, to forge a tie for the conference title. After starting the ESCC season at 0-3, Benet battled back to finish 12-4 and tie Carmel for top honors.

.391: Benet's team batting average this spring, which included five players at .400 or better.
Highlight: Despite a slew of injuries, starting with pitcher Molly Moran's season-ending knee injury before the season started and continuing with Stephanie Abello's wrist injury just before the playoffs, the Redwings finished near the top of the competitive East Suburban Catholic Conference and won a regional title. Abello led the team with a .550 average while Maeve McGuire batted .516.

3.33: Average goals per game in East Suburban Catholic Conference play. The Redwings outscored opponents 30-6 in nine conference games.
Highlight: What was supposed to be a rebuilding year for a team with just four seniors turned into something more. With sophomore keeper Emma Hlavin locking things down in the net and junior Michelle Morefield controlling the midfield, Benet contended for the East Suburban Catholic Conference title, won a second consecutive regional title and went 9-2 over the final 11 games, with the two losses coming to eventual Class 3A runner-up Hinsdale Central.

1: Number of East Suburban Catholic Conference matches that went three games – a 16-25, 25-22, 25-15 win over Joliet Catholic on April 23.
Highlight: The Redwings swept the ESCC postseason awards with Sawyer Yeazel winning MVP and Amy Van Eekeren taking Coach of the Year honors. It was in keeping with the theme of Benet's season as it swept its way to the conference title with an 8-0 mark. In addition to Yeazel, Mike Jurkash, Mike Robinson and junior Ricky Gevis earned all-conference honors.
