York graduate Johnson debuts as Army starting catcher
Army’s Andrew Johnson (York) got his first taste of a starting role as the Black Knights’ primary catcher this spring. Johnson hit .263 with 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored in 99 at-bats as a senior. Army won the Patriot League Tournament for the second year in a row to earn a bid to the Charlottesville Regional.
Columbia freshman pitcher Tessa Kroll (York) logged 28 innings for the Lions and posted the lowest ERA of the team’s five pitchers. Kroll had a 2.25 ERA in 10 appearances and three starts. She picked up one win and struck out 15 batters.
