Police reports: Brookfield and Riverside for June 26

Possession of marijuana

Two juveniles were issued village citations at 4:39 p.m. June 11 after being detained following a fight at Jaycee-Ehlert Park, at Park and Shields avenues. An officer responded to the scene, and two 14-year-old girls were taken into custody.

One juvenile had a bag containing a green leafy substance that later tested positive for of marijuana; she was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The other juvenile was found with four permanent markers; she was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and juvenile possession of permanent markers.

Theft of items

• A gold chain and medallion were stolen from G. Blando Jewelers, 9228 Broadway Ave., between 2 and 5 p.m. June 10.

• Tools valued at $13,600 were stolen between 5 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. June 14 from a car and a garage on the 9000 block of Southview Avenue.


Justina Jennette Buccellato, 32, of Bridgeview was charged with DUI and disobeying a traffic control device at 3:26 a.m. June 15 at 31st Street and Elm Avenue. She was observed making a right-hand turn from Maple Avenue onto 31st Street where such turns are illegal.

Buccellato failed field sobriety tests. She has a July 9 court date at the Maybrook Courthouse in Maywood.

Damage to property

Someone threw a brick through the front picture window of a house on the 4200 block of Blanchan Boulevard at 3:52 a.m. June 17.


Robbery reported

Three individuals stole a shoulder pack from an individual at 9 p.m. June 12 somewhere on Uvedale Road. After pulling the victim to the ground, one suspect removed papers and medication from the pack while the other two kicked and punched him.

Home burglary

Someone stole cash and jewelry from a home on the 100 block of Quincy Street between 10:30 a.m. and noon June 13.


Christopher Geber, 22, of Stickney was charged with DUI at 3:01 a.m. June 15 after being involved in a car accident at Barrypoint and Millbridge roads. Geber told the responding officer that one vehicle cut his car off and caused him to jump the curb, striking a guard rail.

The officer detected a strong odor of alcohol on Geber’s breath and reported that Geber failed field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol level of .203.
