ELMHURST – The Bethel United Church of Christ Shopping Cart Brigade collected more than 1,000 paper products at the Elmhurst Memorial Day Parade.

Thirty-two members of Bethel United Church of Christ and 31 Bethel Learning Center students, parents and staff helped collect donated paper products during the month of May for Hines Fisher House. The organization provides families with a free place to stay while their veterans undergo treatment at Hines Veterans' Hospital.

Bethel members recently delivered the paper towels, bathroom and facial tissue, napkins, paper plates, cups, cash and Jewel gift cards to Hines Fisher House to restock the facility's cabinets.
