WHEATON – In recognition of National Small Business Week, DuPage County is reminding small business owners to apply for job creation tax credits, according to a county release.

The $50 million program was created in an effort to help small businesses and non-profit organizations afford to hire new, full-time workers in an attempt to stimulate job growth and the economy, the release said. The credits are offered until June 30, 2015 or until all credits have been exhausted.

Eligible businesses include those with 50 or fewer full-time employees. The jobs in question must pay at least $10 an hour, or $18,200 annually and the position must be sustained for one year. After that year, the business would receive a $2,500 credit.
