Riverside Brookfield had some notable accomplishments during the spring sports season. Here are some of the Bulldogs' best.

BASEBALL

32: Wins for RB this season, setting a new school record

Highlight: The Bulldogs had high expectations entering the season and surpassed them with a 32-5-1 record. RB won the Metro Suburban Conference and a regional title on junior Will Kincanon's no-hitter against Montini in the regional final. Kincanon is drawing major Division I interest after his dominant season, which included 118 strikeouts, a 1.06 ERA and a .425 batting average at the plate. Leadoff hitter C.J. Duffek, a Northwest Missouri State signee, also starred for RB.

SOFTBALL

.593: Batting average for senior catcher Emily Hastings

Highlight: The Bulldogs didn't play up to the strong program's typical standards, but Emily Hastings still starred. The SIU-Edwardsville recruit set a school-record with a .593 batting average and did so with nine home runs and 10 doubles. RB went 11-21 with a 7-5 record in the MSC. They fell to Nazareth in a Class 3A regional final to snap a streak of five straight regional titles.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

25: Wins for the RB boys volleyball team, which was 25-12 on the season.

Highlight: A senior-heavy Bulldog squad won 25 games and placed in the top four of all three tournaments it competed in. Senior middle hitter Tim Thor-Larsen lived up to his name by hammering down a team-high in kills. Fellow seniors Jake Fieseler, Mitch Malloy, Scott LeBeau and Mike Kosik were also among the team's contributors.

BOYS TRACK

13: Bulldogs that earned all-conference honors at the Metro Suburban Conference meet en route to the RB title.

Highlight: RB qualified five entries for the Class 3A state meet, but perhaps the Bulldogs' top moment of the season came when they won the Metro Suburban Conference meet. The Bulldogs scored in all but one event to edge rival Glenbard South by five points in the team standings. Event winners were Jack VandeMerkt (high jump), David Swon (long jump), Mike Hornung (discus), Gerrand Moody (110-meter hurdles) and Matt Chapp (200).
