Horses at Danada Equestrian Center get clean bill of health
WHEATON – A four-month-long review of a county horse center has confirmed that the animals are well taken care of, according to a Forest Preserve District of DuPage County release.
The Danada Equestrian Center, which operates under the branch of the Forest Preserve District, came under scrutiny when volunteers at Danada voiced concerns about the treatment of the horses. A subsequent investigation by the District's veterinarian and an equine expert with ties to the District found they were in good health, but volunteers criticized its objectiveness, the release said.
Forest Preserve District Commissioner Shannon Burns said in the statement that a "third, impartial examination was the only way to put this issue to rest."
