Antonio Morrison, a Bolingbrook High School graduate and University of Florida football player, was arrested Sunday morning in Gainesville, Fla., on a charge of simple battery.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Former Bolingbrook High School football star Antonio Morrison was accused of punching a bouncer and was charged with simple battery after an incident early Sunday, according to an arrest report on the Gainesville Police Department website.

Gainesville Police say witnesses identified Morrison as the man who argued with a bouncer regarding a cover charge Sunday outside Kava Lounge. According to witness accounts in the arrest report, Morrison asked for a cover charge discount from the bouncer and was reported as saying: "Do you know who I am? I'm a UF football player. I'm Antonio!"

When told he had to pay the full cover charge, witnesses said Morrison punched the bouncer on the left side of his head. The police report said Morrison was identified by the bouncer and a witness from his picture on the university website. When officers arrived at the scene, Morrison told them he got into a "scuffle," but added "it wasn't that big of a deal." According to the arrest report, Morrison stated he didn't remember much because he was intoxicated at the time of the altercation. He was arrested outside Kava Lounge on charges of simple battery.

As a true freshman last season, Morrison played in all 13 games for the Gators and ranked eighth with 34 tackles, 27 unassisted. He also had two tackles for loss and one sack.
