CLARENDON HILLS – The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) recently announced that it again has awarded the Village of Clarendon Hills with a Certificate of Achievement for excellence in financial reporting.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. The village received the award for its 2012 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

The village has received this award for 24 consecutive years.

According to the GFOA, a government must demonstrate a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the CAFR.
