Summer means music in Countryside
Grab a blanket, and head to the park for a fun-filled evening of music. Hungry? Stop by our weekly food vendor for a bite to eat and drinks.
Countryside Park, the city’s largest, offers an ideal setting for relaxing on a summer night, catching up with family, friends and neighbors and enjoying some free music.
The summer concerts in Countryside have become very successful over the years with 200 and 300 people attending each week from Countryside and neighboring communities.
All concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays (rain or shine) at Countryside Park, located at 630 61st St., a half block east of Brainard Avenue. Our opening act begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the headliner band at 7 p.m. Concerts conclude at 9 p.m.
Countryside’s World Tour 2013 is designed to showcase various vacation destinations around the globe and the type of music associated with these locations. They span from the East Coast to the West Coast, and include Hawaii and New Orleans. Bring your passport, your imagination and your travel plans for a great time!
This year’s lineup is sure to please concert-goers of all ages. Headliners include American English, Barefoot Hawaiian, Jose Valdes & the Mambo All-Stars, Mason Rivers, New Odyssey, Piano Man, Sole City Juke Band and Spoken Four.
You should come early to catch a different opening act, game or activity each week too. All entertainment is free due to the generous contributions of our sponsors, which include Westfield Ford, Autobarn, C.J. Wilson Mazda, Continental Motors, Groot, Heartland Bank, Hooters, Infinity Signs, Burger King, Harley Davidson and State Bank of Countryside.
Food, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are sold by local food vendors at each concert. Vendors include Kenney’s Irish Pub, Ledo’s Pizza, Little Joe’s and Pisa Pizza.
In addition, raffle tickets are sold each week for a scooter donated by Westfield Ford, with proceeds going to the Kelli Joy O’Laughlin fund. The drawing will take place at the final concert on Aug. 8.
