Lombard Historical Commission seeking award nominations

Published: Thursday, June 13, 2013 5:12 p.m. CDT

LOMBARD – The Lombard Historical Commission is asking community members to submit nominations for this year's William Mueller Lombard Heritage Award.

In January, the commission decided to rename the Lombard Heritage Award, which was founded in 2012, to honor the village's late president.

The heritage award recognizes community members, organizations, projects and programs that are committed to local, historic preservation. The purpose of this award is to inspire other community members to become active at promoting and preserving Lombard's heritage.

Nominations are being accepted for all of the award's eight possible categories: adaptive use/rehabilitation, advocacy, education, leadership, lifetime achievement, new construction, restoration and stewardship.

Nomination forms and instructions are available at Lombard Village Hall or at villageoflombard.org under the "Quick Links" tab. All nominations are due by July 31 and the winners will be announced during a future board meeting.
