Local churches band together to feed starving children abroad

WHEATON – Hundreds of people will come together at the DuPage County Fairgrounds on June 14 and 15 to pack thousands of meals for the charity Feed My Starving Children.

Feed My Starving Children is a Christian charity that uses donations to fund the purchase of ingredients for their patented nutritional meals, which are designed to provide a full non-perishable, highly nutritional meal to malnourished children around the world. FMSC also helps host events where the volunteers pack the components of the meal in large assembly lines.

The event includes participants from nine local churches. However, organizer Annamarie Boyle says the event isn't just for those affiliated with a church or a particular faith background, and all are welcome to help children in need.

Last year, 145,000 meals were packed after participants collected around $32,000. The event currently has raised approximately $24,000 in donations and 600 volunteers are signed up.
