Published: Thursday, June 13, 2013 5:02 p.m. CDT

LOMBARD – TLC Camp, which provides a week-long, traditional day camp experience for children with cancer and their siblings, will run from Monday through June 21 at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center, 820 S. Finley Road.

This is the 31st year of the camp and during the week, children will participate in crafts, sports and games. They will take field trips to Enchanted Castle, Schaumburg Water Works, Marcus Theater and the Shedd Aquarium.

On Wednesday, the camp will have its annual carnival at Sunset Knoll with circus games, food and a visit from the Lombard Fire Department. This year, one day of the camp will be sponsored by the Caring Arts Foundation, a local non-profit that offers emotional support to cancer patients and their families.

Each summer, volunteers from the TLC Camp work to provide a traditional day camp experience for children with cancer and their siblings. The camp is free to all participants and attracts people from around the Midwest.
